Why would you ever carry a gun?

Do you remember the last time you were in a large crowd of people? Unless you were strolling around in an area that has an outright ban on concealed carry, there’s a good possibility that you walked by more than one person who was carrying a gun, and you didn’t even know it. In fact, for every 20 people you pass (on average) in the United States, one of them is legally carrying a gun,** and the number of carry permits being issued is on the rise.

This brings to mind a question that most permit holders have been asked at some point: Why do you even want to carry a gun?

New Common Sense Regulations Announced after Deadly Accident

Not One More Death

In response to an overwhelming public outcry for safer roads and common sense reform after the tragic death of a promising young teenager in a drag racing incident, Congress has reacted by introducing a bill that, if passed, will implement a series of common-sense regulations designed to keep streets safe for our children.

What is it?

This initiative has been dubbed the “Vehicle Safety Act” and aims to make sure that tragedies like the one this weekend never happen again.

Stand up for your rights…quietly

Fear-based legislation is out of control. It’s not just a matter of trading a little freedom for a semblance of security. That’s an illusion…but you already know that gun control is about the control, not about the guns. All you have to do to prove it is look at the current laws on suppressors (silencers), laws that have no logical basis or grounding in fact. There’s so much superstition and confusion on the topic that most people think it’s outright illegal to have a silencer at all.

In actuality, it’s not illegal to own and use suppressors – and in fact they make your gun SAFER…but thanks to the National Firearms Act (NFA) of 1934, they are heavily regulated by people whose knowledge of the wide world of firearms is limited to Hollywood drama, skewed statistics, and shoddy late-night news reporting.

Let’s talk “assault” weapons – do you know the truth?

Ask the average person what an assault rifle is and you’ll get a lot of interesting answers. Is it a tactical weapon designed for military use? A hunting rifle with special attachments to make it more deadly? Does it have to be a specific caliber or made by a certain manufacturer to qualify? In all honesty, the actual definition of “assault rifle” doesn’t have anything to do with its intended use, caliber, bullet velocity, manufacture, or size…but has everything to do with fear and ignorance.

One of the manipulation tactics often employed by politicians to influence the masses is the control of language. Instead of “Anti-Privacy Act” you get “Patriot Act” because it sounds better…you’re patriotic, aren’t you? The same goes for “Affordable Healthcare Act” and “Terrorist.” The emotional connotation attached to the wording does more to sway public opinion than the actual meaning behind it. They’re banking on you NOT knowing the facts, so you’ll buy whatever they’re selling.

So what are politicians selling when they call a gun an “assault” rifle?

Show What You Stand For with NEW Exclusive Tee-Shirts!

Proudly declare that you stand FOR individual rights and AGAINST discrimination! Here at Gadsden Guns, we believe that fear and prejudice are bad decision makers, and that’s why we’re out there every day educating people, sharing the TRUTH about firearms and shooting sports, and opposing anyone who uses fear, ignorance, and misinformation to keep the American people defenseless.

Even in 2015, discrimination still runs rampant, but it goes farther than you think. It’s not just about race – it’s about unscrupulous people in power using the public’s insecurities and lack of knowledge to assert control over the populace. Take, for example, the idea of an “assault rifle.” Did you know that there’s really no such thing? The myth of the so-called assault rifle is so widespread that most people think the AR in AR-15 stands for Assault Rifle, but in actuality, it’s an abbreviation for ArmaLite, the manufacturer. So what makes a rifle worthy of that scary title?

The answer might surprise you.

One simple trick to help small businesses succeed – without spending a dime!

PrintEveryone likes to see small, independently owned businesses succeed, especially ones in your neighborhood. It’s not easy for little mom and pop shops like Gadsden Guns to compete with big names and big advertising budgets, so we rely on a very special type of person to help us pay the bills every month. Fortunately for us, our customers and neighbors are exactly that kind of person, and we hope you are, too.

The thing is, there are a lot of people out there who are “all talk.” They say they want to see small businesses do well, but instead of eating at the local, family-owned restaurant, they dine at Applebees or Waffle House. These are the people that complain that a new Wal-Mart is going to put the local places out of business, but can be found standing in line at that same Wal-Mart on opening day. Most of these types of people couldn’t even tell you the names of the local pizza joint, the Ma and Pop gas station, the cute boutique that their neighbor just opened down the street.
